Dobova (Croatia - Slovenia)

In 1967 JZ decided to use 25kV 50Hz for the rest of their network. In that time all mainlines in Slovenia and some lines in Croatia [Ilirska Bistrica (slovenian border) - Rijeka - Skrljevo - Delnice - Moravice - Ostarije - Zagreb and Skrljevo - Bakar] were electrified with 3000V DC. In 1968 Dobova - Zagreb line was electrified with 25kV 50Hz. From that time 25 kV became standard power supply in Croatia and in the rest of ex-Yugoslavia except Slovenia.

The first major problem for Croatian railways were two electric systems at Zagreb Glavni kolodvor (Central station). Rijeka - Zagreb line was reelectrified in mid 80's and from that time Moravice - Zagreb section is electrified with 25kV 50Hz. map of Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor station before reelectrification

Dobova station is a classical dual-voltage station - eastern part of the station is electrified with 25kV 50Hz and western part with 3000V DC.

HZ (Croatia railways) and SZ (Slovenian railways) don't have dual system locomotives so every locomotive is pushed and pulled with another loco.
Usually croatian locos pass the voltage border with lowered pantographs and are pushed back by Slovenian locos to the Croatian part of the station. SZ plans to buy dual voltage EMUs and HZ plans to buy Italian dual-voltage class E402B (primarly for Rijeka - Zagreb line and for direct trains for Slovenia).
